About Lena Håkanson

I have worked as a designer for more than 20 years. I have done design commissions for IKEA, AB Småland and Färg & Form, among many others. I exhibit my unique, handmade one-off pieces regularly and teach for example various printing techniques, design processes, pattern design and embroidery.

I often design patterns and I usually work with textile or paper. My pattern design is modern, graphic, personal and colorful. I work a lot by hand with techniques like stamp printing or drawing and the pattern has a handmade expression. I think that the little irregularities you get when using analog techniques brings the patterns to life.

I also have the privilege of working part time as a senior lecturer in design at Linnaeus University. I teach and research subjects such as design projects, screen printing, pattern design, sustainability and creative methods Find out more
